Group HMS completes the construction of a water-lifting pump station at the Yylgynagyz water channel in Turkmenistan

The opening ceremony of the source water-lifting pump station at the Yylgynagyz water channel in Lebap province in the Republic of Turkmenistan was held on 3 February 2011. The ceremony was attended by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan.    

The Yylgynagyz water channel provides essential for irrigation  for the vast virgin lands of right bank of Amu Darya River, and therefore is of significant economic importance to the country.   

This pump station is a turnkey project commissioned by the Ministry of Water Management of Turkmenistan. Implementation of the project was carried out by ZAO Hydromashservice, which is a part of Group HMS.

Experts from Russia and the Republic of Turkmenistan carried out a wide range of hydraulic and construction works, taking into account all climatic and hydro geological characteristic of the region, including the seismic activity of the territory.

The facility is equipped with 12 powerful pumping units D12500-10 М2 (manufactured by  Group HMS companies) with a specific capacity of 3.5 cubic meters of water per second. The new hydraulic complex will pump up to 35 cubic meters of water per second, more than twice the previous amount.    

The new source water-lifting pump station will become  part of a powerful technological water supply system delivering water from the Amu Darya River  through six cascades along 50km of main waterway.
